My name is Laura Swanson and I am a freshman this year at Loyola University Chicago. I grew up in a small town in Illinois surrounded by corn and love. I could not be more grateful for the friends and family that have supported me throughout my life. One thing they all knew was that I belonged in the city, so in my college search my first priority was finding a school in Chicago. Now that I'm here I love Chicago and the city life even more. Although I am still unsure what my major and career path will be I am confident that I made the right decision to attend Loyola. My favorite bible verse, Jeremiah 29:11, says, "For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your good and not for your harm, to give you hope and a future". Not only do I believe that my faith will guide me along the right path, but I think the friends I have made at school, my professors, and continued support from my family and friends back home will help me decide on my future plans.
