This may seem a little strange, but one song that will always have a special meaning for me is "Yeah!" by Usher. Dancing has always been one of my passions and some of my favorite high school memories were made at dance performances and high school dances. My senior year of high school I was a co-captain for the football and basketball dance teams. We did a variety of hip-hop and pom routines at halftime of football and basketball games. We performed routines to all sorts of songs including a Michael Jackson mix, "Bye, Bye, Bye" by NYSNC, "Party Rock Anthem" by LMFAO, and of course "Yeah!" by Usher. The first time I danced to this song was during homecoming week at a pep assembly. At this assembly there was a dance off between the classes, so six of us seniors choreographed a routine to "Yeah!". Needless to say, we won by a landslide and my near obsession with this song began. We included the song into several more of our routines, including our "Guy-Girl Dance", where every dancer had a guy partner. Which was one of my favorite performances of our season. It's not the lyrics, the artist, or the music video that I share a connection with, really this song is just perfect for any good dance party.
